This is a perfect example of how the good soundtrack can end up being more successful than the film itself. Solid performances of these symphonies by Marriner and ASF. The stereo mix has superb sound.
One can only hope Pentatone keeps pumping these old classics out in such fine sound quality. |

I bought this disc as a cd shortly after release this year. It was one of the best sounding cd's I had ever heard. When I purchased a sacd player, this was one of my first "must have" discs.

Hilary Hahn's new disc for DG is a real delight. Few pieces are as familiar as these 4 concertos. I found Ms. Hahn's playing here to be good as ever, as all her recordings have been.
