There seems to be a bit of opposing opinion in the reviews of this disc and, if you would have asked my thoughts after I had listened to it for the first time I would have tended to agree with nucaleena....not now though.

Another great Jacintha "Package". Why package? 'cause the instrumentals form a "partnership" with Jacinthas "asymmetrical" vocal style. Man Oh Man! This is a GOOD one. IMHO this is such a good disc that I suggest if you are in any way a Stan Getz fan, there is a space in your SACD library with the label: Stan Getz Quartet 'Pure Getz' written on it. I believe that every single aspect of this SACD deserves AT LEAST a five star ... more |

I just finished listening to this disc and have mixed feelings about it. If you are a Dolly fan you won't be surprised as most of this recording is exactly what you would expect it to be. I guess what bothers me most is HOW it was recorded (mixed).
