I have to say that this is one of the best reissues in this series. Recieved it today and from first note to last, it was a joy. My taste has always run to Birgit Nilsson in this reportoire. An absolutely outstanding issue in this series. I have the stereo and mc versions and enjoy both equally. What I find above the MTT version is the solo playing of the flute player. Both are very enjoyable. Above all, the sound and performances are wonderful.

An excellent recording. I bought this not expecting a ton. Came away saying wow. My only problem was the flute playing. Maybe the conductor wanted a particular sound. The last two movem,ents sell it for me. Stunning!!!

Great Stuff. This is an absolutely wonderful issue in this series. Orchestral playing is outstanding. Solid interpretation and the sonics are wonderful. I have loved this symphony for a long time. This confirms my belief in this as a wonderful listening experience.

A lot of fun. Came away from this recording saying that Stokowski was truly a magician. I may not go to this recording for anything more than complete belief in his ability to transform an orchestral sound. At time, it can be blasphemy.
