Don't buy a copy of this disc. Buy three so you'll have some to give away or loan. More of the same from the ironic, sardonic and laconic Mark Knopfler - but in this case, more is good. I admit that I expected a little more because of all the 5-star reviews, and was initially a little disappointed. This is a highly-engaging SACD and one of my new favorites. Others who are more qualified can comment on this particular performance versus others, but even in stereo it is an amazing recording. You may have to check with your wife before playing this disc. And a warning to the neighbors might be in order for some of you as well - this is a very dynamic recording. I agree with dogville. There is something seriously awry with the sonics on both the stereo DSD program and the CD layer of this disc. The sound is indefinite and mushy. I can't really come up with a better way to describe what I'm hearing, because it's the first time I've heard anything like it. ... more
