As a footnote to the review by Chris, I would like to add that this disc is also available as a DVD Audio, in which format I first heard this recording. The sonics and the performance are both very fine indeed. It would be interesting to compare the sound between this and the SACD.

I can vouch for the excellence of this Bach organ recital of the Toccatas and Fugues. Having said that, I only have a CD recording. Why? Because it only cost me six quid!! (aka GB Pounds Sterling). When are these spivs going to stop trying to flog out-of-print SACDs at ridiculous prices?

The music on this SACD is orchestral transcriptions of music originally written for piano or two pianos.It's not actually a bad disc, but I can't help thinking that there is something missing with both performance and recording. The playing is generally very good, but when one compares, for example, ...
