NEKTAR is the only Psychodelic Prog Rock Band I know (there was many), and they are very good musicians and composers. My favourite Album is A TAB IN THE OCEAN not released in SACD yet (a shame).

I have many expectations in this SACD, because of the hi musical level of PinkFloyd. This is a typical audiophile disc, a stellar recording from Chesky and a unsual performance based on sax and drums.

The only problem with this SACD IMHO seems to be conductor Peter Guth do not like Strauss music and made a jet performance to go away faster for the tea, mainly in the Blue Danube and shoot it at 9m41s,
maybe a new Guinness Record. My other hypothesis for this crude performance are this recording ... more |

The Guarani Overture do not exist on 16/44 CD, this SACD is the only option avaliable, it is a very beautiful and soulful piece, the performance are pristine, Maestro E.A.Diemecke undestand the works and lead the RPO to a hi grade performance.
