Great party music! A compendium of various artists on the Hammond B-3 with accompaniment, this one rocks and has great sound too. Intimate and dynamic - lots of bass too.
The other players get solos too so it avoids the monotony of too much of a good thing.

Borodin is my favorite composer of chamber works and this SACD is a natural combination of his heart-felt music and DSD's smooth and warm sound. The performances are great - wonderful content and an enlightened choice of program material. Ms. Mutter's playing is spirited and entertaining although she might embellish more than other violinists but that extra wiggle is a valid musical choice here. A musically most enjoyable album.

This is a beautiful sounding SACD. The tones are clear and euphonic with nice pacing and timbre.
However, the label says "Ambient" so be warned - this is beautiful background music and little more. I find it difficult to concentrate on as it does not seem to bear mental focus. The variations can be ... more |
