Genuine DSD for sure and no trace of limiting! I feel there's more "space" and coherency in this album than the previous two. I really don't like the bass, which out of proportion loud compared to the rest of the spectrum. The sonics are also a bit smeared and dark. Quite simply, I'd love to hear ... more

This album has better sonics than Outlandos D'Amour, but not by a whole lot. Very dynamic presentation - waveform views show no trace of limiting and it's genuine DSD. Better use of panning and reverb than the previous album, but everything sounds kind of warm and a bit smeared. Is it better than ... more

The first thing you notice upon listening is that this is a very dynamic rock & roll record, particularly with the kick drum. Looking at the waveforms, there is no trace of limiting or brickwalling. This recording exhibits a full dynamic range, as compared to the slightly brickwalled one on my 2006 CD issue. Next, the EQ seems somewhat neutral,as opposed to the rather treble intense CD version. A little bit veiled, though.

MFSL got this one right. For one, it's quite a dynamic album. A little warm, but plenty of inner detail. Tone isn't perfect (I would have contoured the bass a little bit and added a little bit of treble), but it's a lot more neutral than What's Goin On.
