Cowabunga! The horns are bombastic & tight fisted. This time trip brings you back to the era where pop musicians actually had CHOPS galore. I never heard this album when I was a kid & I regret it. Very jubilant organic authentic rock/jazz/R&B mutation. Though I did have sympathy for the devil after hearing this failed attempt at a Stones cover. Worth hearing just for the belly laughs!

Like a lot of the stuff I bought on SACD I didn't really know this band. But this was a great buy, good sound quality and great music.

MoFi does it again.... Just like the self-titled release, this one is fabulous. UNLIKE the self-titled release, this one is a "crank-it-up" title! (Even at high volumes, the horns are astounding.) Man, I love SACD!

Sadly, the sonics of this album aren't quite as impressive as their previous one (for whatever reason). That being said, the MFSL mastering pulls every last ounce of detail out of the tape. Definitely tighter and more detailed than my vinyl version.

All the same, I'm pretty sure that Dolby Noise Reduction was used in this release, which gives the soundstage a really dull and blanketed feel, not to mention dark and non-descript timbres. Other releases of the era (Chicago Transit Authority being one example) sounded like this. This is sure the best version you'll ever find, though.
