Has been one of the best musical discoveries I've had: those of Scarlatti Sonatas, the interpretation of Christian Zacharias and the MDG label. A superb full of poetry with a unique sound abosultamente crystal clear. A disc highly recommended for lovers of classical music for piano.

It took me a few minutes to adjust to the rather reverberant hall and distant mic placement, but once I did, I found that I really loved the recording! I prefer to have about a "5th row seat" and this is closer to a "15th to 20th row" seat, but the distance somehow does not blur the sound. No doubt much of that is due to Mr. Zacharias' masterful playing. The disc contains a nice mix of familiar and less familiar Sonatas. True, this is not for H.I.P. purists, but for those of you who simply enjoy beautiful music beautifully played, then I can readily recommend this disc to you.
