Reviews: Eleanor McEvoy: Love Must Be Tough

When you open the digipak the first thing you see is “ Proudly Presenting-The South King Street Band-featuring arrangements by Peter Beckett and vocals by Eleanor McEvoy.” After listening to the album that sums it up pretty darn good.

This is unlike the other two Eleanor discs that I have, Early Hours and Out There. This is a Rock ‘n’ Roll album with no other pretenses. It’s not an album of today’s pop/rock sound but a RNR album reminiscent of the early days of RNR. For more info on the album you can go to musicdirect.com and get a good description of the album.

This is a great RNR album with superb sound. Eleanor’s albums have always sounded great and this is no different. It has great clarity and detail. This is the way all albums should/could sound. As it says in the liner notes “lo-res for low life.”

My only quibble is that I like surround sound and this is only stereo but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying it immensely.

I hope her next one is just as good.
