Performance:   Sonics:
First off, this IS the worst album of Bon Jovi's career. It has a grungy mix as if they were trying to channel Alice in Chains. Its lacking in the catchy pop hooks that gave Bon Jovi their longevity.

For BJ fans who must have this album, the SACD is a good value. It's budget priced, and includes both a stereo and multi-channel mix. I found the multi-channel mix to be pretty involving and actually made the songs somewhat enjoyable. The rear channels aren't overused, they mainly just have some texturing information.

Bottom line: This disc is for hardcore Bon Jovi fans only. SACD enthusiasts who just want to have a rock disc in their collection should look elsewhere. Try David Bowie's "Heathen" on SACD instead.
