Just got this one in the mail. Some of the older SACD's I get sometimes are a disappointment. But this one is not. laid back musically, but it's just what I needed after a 60 hour work week. The sound is very smooth, and the title says it all. I give it five stars. LOVED IT ! But it would have been a shock if this one wasn't, Analogue Productions is one of the best companies out there that still produces SACD's.

If you like really cool classic jazz that you can relax and groove to...look no further. Electric guitar, sax and some deep bass...its all good stuff for the musical soul.

Analogue Productions has done a fantastic job here with a very life-like and analogue sounding transfer. No compression means you can turn it up very loud and it pops into beautiful focus. Its the tonal quality of the sound that makes the difference here. A naturalness that is really amazing to behold.

After a hards day work.....put the disc in and press play. You wont be sorry.

And play it loud.
Highly recommended.

Midnight Blue was the 1st jazz album I ever listened to a few years back, and its still my favorite. All of these AP/Blue Note titles (50?) are significant upgrades over previous redbook editions.

This series is one of the best examples of what the format is capable of with proper mastering and sources.

This is such an amazing album and the mastering here is superb. A must own if you like jazz from this era - and maybe even if you don't. It's got a bluesy feel and is very accessible.

Highly recommended.
