This is the best release of this album by a wide margin! Beautiful smooth sound with none of the audible background hiss heard on the intros of the other versions of this album. Not the best work of creedence but a truly worthy sacd purchase.

Version of the album released by Analog Productions is very impressive. It seems to be much better. But Universal surpassed even audiophile edition. For instruments like it's very similar, but there is low tide silver, large airy and emotion inherent only SHM-SACD.

This out of print shm sacd was purchased from China and the price was right. Not the steep 300 bucks some vendors want for these discs.

As an album its decent. Not as great as others I suppose. Two classic hits. Some fans feel the band rambled on and on.......... certain tracks are to long on some other cuts.

I have read many reviews of this shm sacd and it should not surprise anyone that there are likes and dislikes as to the sound. Truthfully the recording is decent but the other albums from this band have better recordings. The condition of the tape source might be suspect but these issues are moot at this point.
When this disc was originally announced there was a mistake as to the transfer. It was listed as an earlier dsd transfer rather than it being a new Fantasy dsd transfer from 2007 from the original masters. That correction made me want to buy the disc and Im glad I did so.

CCR is a band some love to hate. If the Stones are raw they could take lessons from this band. And its exactly this rawness that comes across in spades. Swamp music in an apt description of their sound. I have 6 Steve Hoffman sacds and love the sound,. This disc however is on another level. With this disc you are in the studio with the band. There is nothing between the speakers and the listener. The sound has tons of air, tape hiss and a very lifelike you are there sound to the dsd transfer. It really is amazing.
On the first track...Born on the bayou..........when those vibrato like guitar chords are heard......how they float in space...........its a great ride from there. Yes some tacks might be ponderous but all in all with this quality of pure sound.......who cares??

I was very impressed........almost awed by the sound. The louder this sacd is played.........the better it will sound. Yes the recording could be a smidgeon better..............other CCR albums have a little more robust sounds to the instruments....a little more space between the instruments .......but if you want to be in the studio with this band..............look no further than this disc. It is tremendous.

Most of this disc is in stereo while one track is mono. That being Proud Mary. It sounds very impressive. Mono is not always well heard on sacd but its gorgeous here.

Highly recommended......superb dsd sound and an essential purchase if you like this band.
