As far as throw away pop tunes go this is about as good as it gets. To say it sounds 80's keyboard orientated is the understatement of the year. This is pretty much the blueprint for Keyboard driven 80's pop.

With respect to the sound quality it's enjoyable but not reference quality by any means. The recording is very crisp and clean for the most part. However, at times there is a harshness and loudness which you feel could have been avoided.

The computer aficionados will no doubt do some grabs and it wouldn't surprise me if there's been some compression applied.

Overall though, I think it's worth buying if you are a fan of the album but I wouldn't buy it if you are wanting to demo what your system is capable of doing.

As previously stated, a very crisp transfer, done in England at FX Copyroom. The sound is definitely clearer than even the re-re-remastered CD. Only drawback is that it's the 11 track version and not the later issue with more bonus tracks. That said, the bonus tracks here are welcome in SA-CD format, especially "Technopop". Though stereo only, it's a decent SA-CD. And one I never thought I would live to see.

I frankly don't know what to think about it.
Though it has nice stereo seperation and dynamics, it sounds harsh and crunchy crumbly, like there is also some high frequency distortion. I can hear high frequency spikes at some instruments used. The (Electronic) Cymbals make almost a hissing sound, like rice and pronunciation of the 's' is hissy too.

I've got a dvd with "video killed..." and it is 16bit/48khz pcm. That one sounds more compressed and less spacious than the sacd, but the 's' pronunciation is more correct and rounder and not distorted.
