Performance:   Sonics:
The Styx Paradise Theater SHM-SACD is very very clear. Dennis' voice, electric piano/synths are spot on. The stereo separation is very distinct. There is nice midrange, okay lows, but the high frequencies are too muted for my tastes. Not super dynamic, sort of lacks the impact and snap I would prefer. It sounds better played loud for sure! This is one of those titles that is okay if you are a big fan of the songs/band, but an audiophile listen I'd deem it lackluster. As with most of the SHM-SACDs, I hope/suspect it will get better the more I listen, allowing me to realize finer nuances. But after about six spins I'm just calling this one "nice".
