Among quite a rash of new releases for December I spotted three labels who appear new to SACD. Evil Penguin have (yet another) Faure Requiem. Herve Niquet conducting the Flemish Radio Choir and the Brussels Philharmonic. The choice of repertoire may not be welcome but it is good to see more labels coming on board. Perhaps of more interest is a collection of cantatas by Bach (nos 27 and 55) and Telemann plus a couple of arias from cantatas by Bach and Hoffman. Artists listed as Il Gardellino. The label is Passacaille. Divine Art also have their first SACD - a disc of Bach keyboard works from Berkard Schliessman, piano.
Also continued support from Neos, Challenge, Coviello, Alba, RCO Live and Ars produktion.

On the downside, I saw a new release from Linn of 'The 48' played by John Butt being released on high res download (stereo) but the disc version appears to be RBCD only. I hope this doesn't mark a change of policy from Linn.

I have already checked with the Passacaille label and they are not and dont plan to release in Sacd. The Evil Penguin release as Sacd based on the case rear art on amazon does not look likely either.

Shame. It is clearly listed as SACD on at least one vendor site. These errors are not uncommon.
