Hand.Cannon.Erase Blu ray is now £9.60 @ Amazon UK. I wasn't buying at £15, but £10 is good for me :)

I think the reality, Rob, is that Steve Wilson tackles projects that he personally likes and that have influenced his career both artistically and musically.

Whether Universal, Audio Fidelity or Analogue Productions fills in the MANY missing blanks will be a subject of conjecture but as a collector of ALL things surround since the early 70's, I can only hope that this renewed interest in these formats (DVD~A, BD~A, SACD) continues.

It is true, he has said that at the present time he would only do 5.1 remixes of albums he loves and is inherently familiar with.

Hopefully UMe will keep Clearmountain busy as he has a wonderful ear for opening up recordings in multichannel and I also look forward to what Audio Fidelity will be doing with Scheiner. I agree that the interest is renewed, these last couple years have been the most exciting since the majors bailed on surround sound by the mid-00s.

I sure hope he goes heavier, that was a little to sappy for me.

I'm sure the rock won't be too far behind it lol :)

On my third listen....I really don't know what to think ?? Whether this is good, bad, or somewhere in between ??
I assume this is part of the song ?? The immediate thing that comes to mind, is the French duo, Air. I could imagine the girl's voice being replaced by theirs. It does have a ambient music style, like their's too.
When SW's vocals come in, it all sounds rather "nice", but doesn't actually go anywhere, really. It's a little boring really.
It's a bit like "Drive" from "The Raven.." but without ( lacking ) in the melody, that that song had. "Drive" for me, was the highlight of "The Raven..". I'm not keen on the heavier stuff.
Obviously can't judge properly till listening in it's entirety...

I'm stupidly excited for the release of 'Hand. Cannot. Erase.' What I've heard so far is very good and I can't wait to see him live again in four weeks. The Albert Hall gig at the end of the 'Raven' tour will take some beating though.

Regarding his remixes, 'Fragile' has been all but confirmed as the next Yes reissue. I was secretly hoping for 'Drama' or 'Going For The One', and desperate for it to be '90125', but those will be worth the wait! 'Sparkle in the Rain' should be interesting, albeit I see that album as the start of Simple Minds decline into generic, lighter waving, stadium rock, it'll be worth a look.

And current tweets from Andy Partridge are informing us that his work on XTC's 'Oranges & Lemons' is progressing very well.

But for me, those early Roxy albums have the potential to be mindblowing.

Time to start saving!
