OK Guys, this thread went completely sideways on me, and a bolt of lightning from up above zapped my link trying to explain my self.

I have the SHM SACD ABKO release of Let It Bleed. It is fantastic and I am fine with it. Not what I am talking about.

What I started talking about was the HFPA BD~A available at CDJapan for 1/2 the price of the Amazon.

Directly above you in the vendor links if you click on the Amazon VS the CDJapan you will see Amazon showing a Blu Ray case edition for $16.11 and the CDJapan version as an HFPA for $28.26.

If you pursue the same HFPA version on Amazon it is $48.55 sold by private vendors.

To the point:
Is the HFPA BD~A different than the cheaper priced BD~A of the same Let It Bleed title.

Keywords: High Fidelity Pure Audio BD~A VS Blu Ray BD~A.

On Amazon UK under product description:

it says High Fidelity Pure Audio edition of the Rolling Stones album Let It Bleed. High Fidelity Pure Audio is a range of physical HD audio products from Universal Music Group which uses Blu-ray technology to deliver the ultimate listening experience to the user. High Fidelity Pure Audio discs are playable through all Blu-ray devices.

Picture must be wrong maybe?

Funny, then if picture is wrong they are selling one for $16.11 and one for $48.55 on the same site.

The Amazon Blue Package $16.11 ASIN: B00H31D9WU

The Amazon HFPA Package $48.55 Label: Mercury / Polydor ASIN: B00I22ABJ8

Cleary different.

I believe there is a HFPA Let It Bleed, that possibly nobody has experienced to compare to anything else.

I am buying the HFPA from CDJapan for 1/2 the cost. Wish me luck. I do have the ABCKO SHM SACD to compare.

Good luck to you because I'm totally confused. Not the first time. LOL

Hi Mark,
To my knowledge, there is only one Blu-ray Audio release of Let It Bleed. Sometimes barcodes will differ if manufactured in say, Europe as opposed to USA.

My guess is Amazon has superimposed a Let It Bleed picture over the blue coloured Blu-ray case. Let It Bleed is released on High Fidelity Pure Audio (HFPA) and should come in a clear case.

In regard to prices, some private sellers from Japan that list on Amazon do have sky-high prices. I have seen this type of pricing from Japan on other releases listed on Amazon.

Probably the best pricing (in general) for HFPA releases are on Amazon.ca particularly if you consider the monetary exchange rate for the lower Canadian dollar.

Hope this helps.

Rick, that at least makes sense, albeit I don't know why they use two pictures within one site.

I will receive the CDJapan version within a week. I HATE to double dip but this disc is an all time favorite with me so it will be fun to compare.

I remember being a freshman in high school and my Dad took me into the City, Tower Records, for me to purchase it. Went to school on Monday already having a cassette that I taped over the weekend from my little stereo and my friends that it was so cool.

The way it works is this:

A title is listed here with as accurate details as possible. Links to a number of vendors (mainly Amazon) where you can purchase it are provided. If you follow the links you should get exactly what you expect. Sometimes however third-party sellers go by description rather than barcode and send e.g. a corresponding CD version. If you're in doubt you can always ask the seller in advance what the barcode is and enter it here:

/barcode.php

If it takes you to the title in question you're sweet.

Sometimes there's more than one barcode for a title, e.g. for different geographic regions. If the contents are identical, they're grouped together as it doesn't matter which you receive. In such cases the vendor link will be to the cheapest version (there's logic to figure this out dynamically) on the assumption that that's what you'd want.

Now while you can do your own research on Amazon etc, in most cases you're better off just following the links provided. This site then receives a small percentage of the sale which funds listing of new titles, my extravagant lifestyle etc.

While there are occasional errors, we're quick to correct them as the site needs to be relied on. In general though the information provided here overrides that on the vendor site which may not be 100% accurate.

Got it?

My BD~A copy of Let It Bleed arrived yesterday. Will give it a listen this weekend.

I started this thread due to the confusing images on Amazon. I purchased the cheapest version $16.11 from Amazon with the non HFPA picture.

Well, Rickko's guess was correct, Amazon super imposed a picture over a blue plastic case.

The disc came in the standard HFPA case.

Now to see how it stands up to the SACD. As with many cases I can't hear enough of a difference or one version is better on this part and another version is better on that part.

I will say I have been 99% happy with the HFPA versions I do have, about 10 of them.
