This is a disc what I have expected! Mendelssohn's "Hymn of Praise" Symphony with Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage Overture! I guess that this beats Litton's (BIS) or even Bernius' (Carus) recordings! I'm looking forward... What do you think?

I'm going to wait till both Gardner and Gardiner are done before picking a series (Litton not out of the running yet, but the absence of the Hebrides Overture counts against him).

Not a fan of the #2, but for #3, NO ONE beats Maag, regardless of when it was recorded.
