This looks iffy. If the track list (as shown here) indeed includes the bonus track "Gog (Live)", then we may assume that the same digital transfers used for the 2005 remaster on RBCD are used for this SACD, since that bonus track is included on that 2005 remaster. These digital transfers were done in the Abbey Road studios. Now, these could then have been DSD flat transfers from the master tapes, but there is no guarantee they were (they were *at any rate* sourced from the analogue tapes, in whatever manner). At best, the Japanese SACD would provide a higher res than the standard 2005 RBCD, but do not count on straight DSD transfer from the analogue tapes.
The same applies mutatis mutandis to the other VDGG SACD reissues.

According to CDJapan, if the info is correct, it will be based on a 2015 DSD remaster from the original UK analogue tapes.

Perhaps a wait and see approach would be in order before committing to a purchase.

I'm certainly in NO rush.

Does the booklet indeed indicate the disc is based on DSD files from the analogue tapes?

"DSD flat mastered from the UK original analogue master tapes"

Here are the DR ratings from the 2015 SHM-CD (UICY-40138), made from the same mastering:

The bonus track - which is a bootleg and has nothing to do with the album master tapes - seems to have been taken from a previous reissue. You will notice that it is much more compressed, as were the previous Van Der Graaf Generator remasters.
