Is this volume worth getting, or is it only for completists? I tend to prefer the folkier side of Bartók's output: perhaps these choruses would be in that line?

I'm still learning to love the quartets. His more popular (in both senses) works such as the Hungarian Sketches and the Dance Suite are masterpieces in their own right.
