Mark, thank you for the link and your thoughts with which I agree. Interestingly though, the logo on the Qobuz site is slightly different to the one shown on the link you sent but is identical to the one used by Zeus. Perhaps there are more than one available to use covering 'hires music' and 'hires audio'.
What still puzzles me about the move to studio quality down loads is the apparent lack of copyright protection on downloads. SACDs are difficult to copy (even once). Why does the industry now, suddenly, trust the public not to share music to the level of damaging earnings when hitherto they have gone to great lengths to protect what is theirs? At the high prices charged for these downloads there must be great temptation to share them around. Prices are falling slowly but what is the level needed to stop copying? The new DG recording of BOTH Brahms piano concertos (Barenboim) is available as 24/96 stereo at just £11 in uk. Interestingly 40 years ago an LP version (would have been 2 LPs) would have cost nearly £4. Using the accepted inflation calculation the price today should be near £60. No wonder record companies are having a hard time and can ill afford to lose more revenue by allowing copying for free of their assets.

Yes, it appears that everybody has some insight and there is a bit of jumping on the bandwagon with the yellow and brown/black logos, that define Hi Res. Watch soon HDTracks will revamp there logo.

I love Big Business and all there trickery.

I totally agree with you the ability to share files. I can take a downloaded music file, put it in a USB stick, send to you and now we have two for the price of one. I am not that literate in how to do protection. Maybe send to buyer, Once it downloads it destroys it self to cloud, only to be accessed again via your own personal computer or IP address. If you ever buy a new computer you will have to pay a fee, to get your collection back from the cloud.

Great idea, except consumer watch groups would raise holy hell.

Send me the link to the site Qobuz where you see the different logo.

There has been a lot of well-meant comments here from engaged forum members. Comments with suggestions (and complaints) regarding structure issues, features, user-interface (UI’s) and navigations etc. on the new site. Many of which I have found to be essential and well-reasoned for.

I think these deserves a reaction from Zeus. At least some up to date comments on what to expect to be implemented or things he still have under consideration. Or is the current site an end product? Or a statement like no input needed anymore!

"..ihrem Ende eilen sie zu..." Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen.Face the fact. We are close to Götterdämmerung!

The "God" here has already clearly distanced himself from this old site in general and the Forum in particular.
... Ich weiss nicht was ich tue...
"Also sprach Loge" in Das Rheingold when he realized where things where heading when greed rules. But I think I do.Thanks all who have contributed links to other interesting forums and sites where love for music matters more than money.
And free speech is not only tolerated, but encouraged.

Götterdämmerung!

Ha ha.. :-) Well, I don’t know what to say about that… kind of spot on perhaps? :-)

This stretches my knowledge to a point close to a collapse I guess, but isn’t Götterdämmerung about the complete destruction of the world as we know it? And the rebuilding of a new better one?

In general terms I think changes are good. I always try hard to see it that way, at least as an intellectual exercise. Emotional it can be harder, on that I agree. But there is more to my world than SA-CD.net so when it dismantles my world will remain. For sure! Stone Age would be very prominent today if people of past would not have dared to take risks (which are always part of changes) to develop.

I have no clue of where this new site is heading. Others here seem to have. If this new site ends up being a copy of already existing ones, well that would be a huge mistake. There simply has to be some single minded thoughts or selling points or unique features, which makes the new site special. I don’t think it has at this point, certainly not the way SA-CD.net has. Excuse me Zeus, but it’s more like a dull encyclopedia, where you may find good things if you know exactly (!) where to look. In great visual look though...

But it is far from too late to increase its distinctiveness! I would appreciate if Zeus could make a short return to the old world. Hmm… this is becoming like the Dvorak 9th… Zeus 9th - forth to the new and then back to the old world. I better play a good ninth now!
