You can see in John's review he writes, 'the sound is good for the period', but it isn't clear what the recording date is.

I'm wondering whether we should all try to put the recording year in the body of the review, unless the recording has been made in the past two or three years. There will be people who don't know the RCA Living Stereo are historical releases, and hence expect better sound than is possible, just as I don't know when individual Bob Dylan or Stones albums were originally released. Then there are artists like Vladimir Ashkenazy who has recordings available on SACD originally made in 1962, right up to the present day, so it will be useful to know what is what. Also, re the Neumann 'Ma Vlast' recording, I believe he made three, the last for Denon, but this appears to be his second version, as the last was an early digital recording.

Unfortunately, the midpriced Capriccio SACDs don't mention a recording date. Most of them seem to come from the 1980's and early 1990's.

The Ravel concerto with Argerich is from 1985: http://www.argerich.org/Chrono.htm

The Bartok piano concertos with Kocsis are from the early 70's.

Sorry Claude, this is not true.

The Capriccio Dvorak and JC Bach discs that I reviewed both have the recording dates given on the back of the cases.

Interesting. I checked a couple of discs from the series at a store and could not find the recording date.

Apologies - now added for all three issues. Debussy was 1993 (La Mer), 1988 (Nocturnes) & 1987 (Prelude).
