It appears the number of multichannel releases in the pop/rock genre this year on DVD-Audio thus far eclipses that of SACD: 1 versus 0.
"Ringo in 5.1" is released today. See http://www.dvd-a.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3
Perhaps the success of The Beatles' "Love" album (it was awared two Grammys last month; see http://www.ringostarr.com/news.php) inspired him to do a 5.1-channel DVD-Audio release.

In an interview done with Ringo (and that other guy, Paul) at the premier of "Love" in Las Vegas, Ringo indeed mentioned the superiority of having multi-channel surround for a recording.

This is hardly the forum to discuss the "superiority" of DVD-Audio over SACD. DVD-Audio is a dead format. We don't need any Zekl types here similar to audioasylum.

Just for the record, Jens (DVD-Audiophile) has created a new site dedicated to DVD-A (dvd-a.net). Since his site of a commercial nature, this isn't the place for promotion and Jens has been advised as such. From long experience I know how these combative discussions degenerate so this thread is now closed. Anyone interested in discussing this new release is encouraged to visit his site.
