Man, this is very strange. I got my copy, today. When playing CD layer on a computer, it is ok. But when I put it in my sacd player, it is a rock&roll title.

I could not believe what I hear, so, I switched to CD layer, it is fine. I guess everything has a first time, it is the first time I had such sacd disk with sacd layer completely messed up.

Anyone else having this issue? I bought it from ebay, it will be too late to complain and return it. Any place that I can go to to have it replaced?

Try to return it anyway. It's clearly a mastering/manufacturing defect and the seller should accept a return. Forget about contacting BMG/Sony for help. Their customer service is non existant. Some time ago I wrote them (by e-mail and follow-up letter)about my RCA Living Stereo SACD of Madama Butterfly, which, although correctly labeled, both discs 1 and 2 contained the identical musical content. They never bothered to reply. After 3 tries, I finally received a correct copy from Amazon.com, so I didn't contact them again (which probably whould have been a waste of time and postage anyway). Good luck.

Pierre Monteux was a great conductor, with an amazing career (among other things he was the conductor of the most famous premiere of the 20th century, Stravinsky's, "Rite of Spring"). He also had incredible optimism. In 1961, when he was in his mid-eighties, the London Symphony offered him a 25-year contract. He refused to sign it until an option to renew was added.

As to this recording, in a word its indispensible as a performance, and one of the best early stereo recordings from RCA.

I don't (I have a european pressing), but someone on the Steve Hoffman forum reported the same problem:

BTW, it's Can "Rite time" on the SACD layer.

Can: Rite Time

I had exactly the same thing happen to me in the early days of CD. I bought what I thought was the Respighi Roman trilogy (Pines of Rome etc) only to hear a guitar at the start of the disc. It was some sonsiderable time later that I found out it was a Genesis album.

The replacement copy was fine.

I have the Monteux/Boston "Pathetique" Living Stereo SACD and can vouch that the stereo SACD layer on my copy is fine.

Well, well, well.

Order a new copy, but from Amazon this time, got exactly the same problem. The SACD layer is a 2-ch, titled like "Ride High", or something about "Ride"...

I just got my third copy and mine too has the wrong content on the SACD layer. I got 2 bad ones from Amazon and tried another seller on ebay. All three are bad.

Very frustrating!

Perhaps you should try ordering from the UK or on the Continent--- It'd more likely be from a different batch.

Just a thought.
