Analogue,

It's looks like we (all four reviews submitted thus far)are in complete agreement on how undeniably poor the two-channel content of this SACD is. I even rated it lower than you did. BUT those who have experienced the multi-channel layer also agree that it is very good indeed. The vast difference in sound quality between the two-channel content and the multi-channel content is unusual. It is my experience that if one is good the other is good and vice versa. This is true even though the mastering is done independently and usually with completely different engineering teams. Sometimes, however, the two programs come from different sources, as was in the case of the Ray Charles/Count Basie SACD and in that case, as well as, perhaps, "The Marvin Gaye Collection", explains the divide between the two-channel and the multi-channel content.

While the two-channel is not recommended the multi-channel is *highly* recommended.
