The list of upcoming releases from Universal was huge last year, and this year, it has dwindled down to one release, according to their website. I had the impression from 2004, that the SACD format had full support from Universal's labels.

I hope this isn't a bad trend!

Does anyone have any information that would make me less nervous?

However, I think that number of 100-150 SACDs is a total for worldwide releases.

I'd have to do some research, but hasn't Universal claimed they are going to release some grandiose number of SACDs each year for the last few?

jpc has just announced that Deutsche Grammophon will release 3 bargain-priced SACDs at the end of February (for € 7.99): Beethoven's Choral Symphony, Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and Orff's Carmina burana. Looks like a new series.

on a related note, jpc currently lists around 15 previously released universal SACDs at a new, lower price of 14.99 Euro, effective 24 Jan.

Yep - the VPO/Bernstein Choral, the VPO/Previn Carmina Burana, and the VPO/Prinz/Abbado Clarinet Concerto, coupled with (most interestingly for me) an unidentified Mozart piano concerto with Friedrich Gulda. He did 4 with VPO/Abbado (18, 20, 21, and 22 IIRC), I hope it's K466 (No 20), as that's my favourite version of it.

Gulda in Mozart is unbeatable IMHO: his K271 (No 9) on Orfeo with Boehm and his K488 (No 23) on Teldec with the Concertgebouw under Harnoncourt are fantastic.
