Hi there-http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/sh...d.php?t=199295 Thought this post would enlighten everybody as to what really is going on w/ the sacd format.I find it a little off putting the mentality on this forum, which is why I have not posted before. Why is it a bad thing to have different taste's in music? I find it very common place for the classical lover's of music to attack the people who are asking for more title's in sacd. Why? So what if I have mainly rock, pop, jazz in my library.I don't hold it against anyone that has different taste's in music. Are we giving out an award for best library or something? Or maybee jack black's character from High Fidelity can pass judgement from on high.Just to be clear ,Because you like classical and I don't does not give me the right to attack your tastes. I mean c'mon , can't everybody lighten up a bit?Don't tell me Radiohead Kid A in sacd would not BLOW people away. That being said ,when Depeche Mode Black Celebration sells for $200.00 on e-bay ,I feel something just not right in the world.I mean hey Roxy music Avalon sounds GREAT, but how many times can you hear it?I listened to that album to death in the 80's!!It's 2009 allmost 2010 can I hear SOMETHING new? Just a thought.O.k. All you classical guys simmer down, have a glass of white wine put on your cardigan and change the settings on your WAY overpriced tube pre-amp you just bought .I'm just playing w/ the last part.Anyway, just my 2 thoughts and nothing more.

Shawp some of us do advocate all music be released on SACD. I personally believe that everything including Rap, Hip Hop, Dance be released as single inventory SACD/CD hybrids and that single-layer CDs be retired to the dustbin of history.

The problem with most non-classical SACD sales is SACDs are NOT released until much after the CD version, if at all.

You might have more credibility if you didn't use apostrophes to indicate plural nouns! (head's up, title's etc.) Don't say that it's just the internet and proper grammar doesn't matter--it always matters. :-)

Not everybody here has English as a first language. In fact, only about half of all traffic comes from English speaking countries.

Zeus, Intresting that you say such a large proportion of traffic comes from none English speaking countries. None English speakers apart from translating the language have to try and apply the rules of grammar as well and English grammar must be especially difficult to apply for none native speakers and writers. I am amazed at the high overall standard. I am a native English speaker had a good education but my written english is poor because of poor teaching as a child. When I first became a poster on this site someone criticised my spelling and punctuation which almost made me give up. Glad I did not otherwise I would not have learned as much as I have. Tolerance for others is todays watchword!!

To Poster Shawp: Had you been a more-frequent poster on this web-site, you would notice that topics as diverse as Blu-Ray, DVD-A and other formats including popular music are a mainstay and Zeus has (with minimal limitations) allowed most of us to speak our peace. I, too, crave diversity in my music and realize that most posters prefer classical fare, but I have learned to live with it and have been rewarded. As for your English......I was an English major but understood clearly what you said and feel that criticism of grammar, etc. has NO place on ANY website. Sorry, if you were turned off and hopefully it won't happen again, but welcome aboard.

It's still very possible to have a new SACD made. The band and its producers just have to choose to, or be educated to it, and then choose to.

In fact, the Boulder Super Audio Center and Sonoma Records would love to have their business, and walk them through the process.

Have any contacts with the bands, Shawp? Anything's possible. That said, this kind of is the choir you're preaching to.

So, it's OK to write insulting lines such as "All you classical guys simmer down, have a glass of white wine put on your cardigan and change the settings on your WAY overpriced tube pre-amp you just bought," but it's not OK to point out errors in usage that are taught in the 7th grade or earlier, not in college. Got it.
