STOP THIS MADNESS!!!!!

I actually think he has created a 2nd account to give himself positive "helpful" ratings. IMHO, how anyone could find this kind of review "helpful" is way beyond my comprehension.

It will stop soon when he has reviewed them all ;-)

Frankly I think it has gotten well past the point where you could argue that his reviews are of any use, and it has now reached the point where his behaviour is that of a troll.

I vote that either his account is barred from submitting reviews, or that a minimum word count for reviews is implemented. Even something like a minimum of 25 words would stop this madness.

If you submit your own reviews (which I note you haven't as yet) and these are rated more highly, they'll appear higher on the Title Details page.

There he goes again. Has he ever been emailed about his reviews by Zeus? I just wonder what his response has been to the general dislike for his reviews. I, for one, do not want to see his useless 2-4 word reviews any more. I'm all for free speech but this is almost bordering upon spam because I just skip past his reviews.

We should all thank De Selby for supporting the format so much. Who else buys as many SACDs as him? ;-)

There is truth in that! However, as Zeus has said, write some reviews yourselves; don't rise to the bait, count to 100, then write 100 words on your latest disc. (UK readers can imagine me turning into Michael Winner's commercial....)

Incidentally, Decca has boxed together Chailly's Mahler symphonies; disappointingly, they are RBCD only.

Petey, this is one of the few times that you and I share the same views, except that I view these as not bordering on spam, but as the actual thing itself. The 10 "reviews" posted yesterday just about sent me over the top, so I counted to 24 (hours) before responding. I think someone coming to this site for the first time and seeing these "reviews" would have a terribly negative view of the usefulness of the site and of the passion that many individuals have shown in developing the content that is here.

I am still hoping that something will be done about those 4 word entries in the reviews section (sorry, but can’t call them reviews). If someone doesn’t feel like writing full review for what ever reason, that’s ok with me, but taking the piss is a completely different matter. And using this place just for the sake of listing one’s SACD discography doesn’t impress me much. The way he’s doing it pisses me off every time I spend hours of my valuable free time to share with other users my honest views about music that I like and have something to say about.

Zeus, how about introducing a page for users who want to advertise their collections, so they can feed their shopping vanities without clogging the space intended for something much more useful?
