Does anyone actually know whether the Universal SACDs are coming out? No-one wants these incoherent and poorly informed rants from either side of the ideological spectrum.

Agreed. I received an email on August 23rd informing me that my copy of The Original Soundtrack by 10CC had shipped from CDJapan. No word yet on Who's Next.

I also received an email saying that my order (Dire Straits) was shipped. I looked up the status at Japan Post EMS International. It says "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" (Tokyo International Branch)as of 7:11am 24 August 2010.

First review of Dire Straits S/T album on SACD:
You know something? I just listened to the Dire Straits SACD, and at least to my ears, it sounds very, very good. Lots of detail, without any harshness - the bass, ride cymbal and lead guitar on "Sultans of Swing" sound very accurate. The only other copy that I have is the Vertigo, and if no one else does it, I'd be willing to do a comparison. It's a Takiguchi mastering from the Japan master tape
