I would like to get my hands on a copy of this but it seems to be out of stock everywhere I look. Has anyone got a spare - I will pay reasonable price and postage to UK - or know where I might find one.

Thanks in advance.

Why not get these two Capriccio SACDs instead:
Shostakovich: Jazz Suites - Sloane
Shostakovich: The Bolt, The Age of Gold - Kitajenko

In addition to all the compositions on the Naxos SACD you also get: The Age of Gold, The Tale of the Priest and his Servant Balda and the Moscow Cheryomushki Suite. I like the performances and sound quality of the Capriccio's much better than the Naxos SACD.

Hi Teresa

Thanks for the pointers. I have way too much Shostakovich on RBCD already -including The Bolt and Jazz Suites - but having heard Yablonsky's Hamlet I thought this would be worth hearing. I see it's available as a DVD-A, but I have nothing to play it on :(

PS: Have just ordered the Kitaienko - thanks!

DVD-Audio can play it in its "native" resolution (24bits/48kHz) - just trying to sway you into getting a player :-)

The Naxos SACDs pop-up on Berkshire Record Outlet from time to time.

This out of print SACD (Naxos 6.110104) is still available at RMB¥165 (about US$25) in Beijing, China. Only 1 copy left! Brand new and in original factory seal.
