Folks Hi
I've gently contacted 2L with this suggestion today (5/10) and will report if anything comes back!

Folks Hi
Sorry to report following response from Morten Lindberg at 2L-
'Thank you, Jon! There’s currently no scheduled plans for a complete recording of the Shostakovich P&F; it’s all a question of time, resources and priorities – Maybe, some day J'
Well, I tried, anyway...
Cheers
Jon

Channel Classics' Jared Sacks could try to convince Dejan Lazic to tackle Shostakovich's 24 preludes & fugues. Lazic clearly has an affinity for the 20th Century piano repertoire, as demonstrated by his underrated Bartok in Liaisons Vol. 1 - Dejan Lazic, although Shostakovich is "just a tad less" percussive. Still, Lazic's textural clarity could prove to be a perfect match to Shosty's wild counterpoint.
Arnaldo Hi
Another thought - Igor Tchetuev on Caro Mitis?
Cheers
Jon

I am sure Dejan would indeed do a superb rendition. I will happily put it to him! greetings

In the meantime, I'm definitely looking forward to the release of Lazic's Liasons Vol. 3. I understand that this time around, Lazic plans to present us with Bach, Britten and Brahms, leaving us to wonder how he'll connect these three very distinct composers...
Only Carl Philip Bach and Britten. NO brahms. His Brahms arrangement of the violin concerto was enough for now. First out however is the Beethoven 4th with the Australian Chamber orchestra as january release.

What a treat to find in the mailbox after another crazy day at work. I agree completely with Jonalogic's apt opening understatement: "This is an exceptionally stimulating release, both musically and sonically"*. Shchedrin is no second-echelon composer; he shines as brightly, perhaps slightly brighter than Shostakovich here.
I was amused by the photo of artist Joachim Kwetzinsky: despite being born in 1978, he looks remarkably like Justin Bieber (before the haircut). And the name of the recording producer seemed familiar: type "Wolfgang Plagge" into the SEARCH box above....
__________ Ditto for the 'glued-in notes' --And the track listings are in tiny grey-on-black type... dag nab 'em for that!

Scary... oh, I meant JB. Did he have a haircut? Wow, I am overcome with an intense wave of inertia.
BTW, Jared, any feedback on possible CC intent on the Shostakovich Preludes and Fugue?
This really is one of the most perplexing and long-running gaps in the SACD repertoire. Quite criminal, IMHO!
