I've gotten tired of people complaining about the demise of SACD while sitting back and doing nothing.
So I created a petition. If enough people sign it, I will pass it along to all of the music label heads.
Sign AWAY!

What about adding some arguments on why SACD is "simply the best audio technology to hit consumers in ages"? (Ages??)

By reading these words, I would first have thought of MP3, which is a truely revolutionary format, enabling the consumer to carry hundreds of hours of music in the pocket and download it from the internet.

I don't know if anyone is following MP3 developments, but last week, the software was released to allow the creation of Multichannel MP3s. This is an interesting development, and I hope that it will lead to greater awareness of the beauties of multichannel music and recording.

Well they may as well give music a try. Seems the english lessons at least haven't taught them much yet.

The only way to push SA-CD is to simply go out and buy the product. From what i see arround me, most people dont know about SA-CD. I'm sure many would be interested and buy, if they would only be informed and hear for themselves.
Actually retailers should do this but instead the complain that there is no interest for a product of whos existence they didnt tell anyone !

I was going to suggest that everyone try to inform their friends and colleagues about SACD, but unfortunately audiophiles in general seem to be a rare breed these days.

For example, my favorite record dealer hasn't even heard any of the new formats, and thus cannot comment on the products to his customers. I doubt that he has even heard a proper 5.1 Dolby surround setup. Maybe he should come over and hear what the fuss is about. It's hard to build enthusiasm for a product without knowing what you are selling.

My one and only audiophile friend loves SACD, but can't afford to upgrade his system, although he would like to. Moving from stereo to multi-channel is a big outlay, and kids come first.

Everyone else I know either doesn't care about sound quality, or doesn't even listen to music! I'm sure they would have a heart attack if they knew how much I spend on music and playback equipment.

Anyway, I signed the petition. It made me feel good, if nothing else!

MDT is right, just keep on buying them, and pestering your local dealer whenever possible!

I'm the last one to put money in the forefront (you seem to have forgotten what i wrote about the ART of recording on an other thread). But the people that DECIDE on the future of SA-CD, are those sitting in on the boards of the big companys, and THEY make their decisions by looking at sales figures and not by listening to whow it sounds (they probably give a d... about that)
