According to www.abruckner.com:

'Bosch has chosen the first version of 1872 as edited by William Carragan. This is the version where the Scherzo is placed second.'

In other words, the same as Simone Young, though Bosch is 5 minutes quicker:

Bosch: 66:21 - 17:45 10:00 17:44 20:48

Young: 71:22 - 20:40 10:47 19:32 20:23

Agreed. An excellent recording. If you like Bruckner recorded in cathedrals, you'll love this:

I much prefer Bruckner recorded in cathedrals rather than concert halls, do you happen to know if the B3, B4 & B9 from this series are also recorded in the same cathedral?

One of my all time favorite Bruckner symphonies is the 8th, I have a 1988 RBCD, Gunter Wand/North German Radio, it is recorded in a cathedral, a live recording in front of a dead silent audience, just amazing. Hope Bosch will give us a worthwhile SACD of this work.

Yes they are. And in MCH, the recordings all have a real center channel at an appropriate level. While a session picture in the booklets show it being multi-mic'ed, it sounds more like they used a minimalistic mic arrangement.
