I was surprised to find out that this "legendary performance" was actually a dress rehearsal -- not a live recording as EMI has claimed for decades.

The actual live recording made by Bavarian Radio was released a few years ago on Orfeo.

Just an FYI to people thinking about buying this.

Only the 1st movement was rehearsal recording.

This "legendary recording" is still worth listening to.
