We have Boulez, Scrotumzewski, Albrecht on Pentatone and the bizarre controversy, and Haitink, during his Concertgebow heydey when he was only kinda boring.

Also Monteux, on Universal Japan - probably my choice.

I enjoy the precision of Boulez. (Writing this, having just listened to Aimard/Boulez/Cleveland Ravel piano concertos on CD.)

I was frankly surprised with Boulez' earlier Columbia Ravel cycle and found it very good and a revelation in some ways, though the Daphnis Sunrise scene and final lead up to the climax of Ma Mere to be a little too fast for my tastes.

I haven't ordered anything from Universal Japan yet, I don't know if you recall, but months ago I asked about the Perlman/Ashkenazy Beethoven Sonatas and someone believed that they were pretty low rez? Is there any technical data on your Monteux?

Albrecht absolutely. Pure magic.

Any of these the full ballet, or are they all the suites? The only SACD version I have is the Simon (which I doubt is even in the running) and it's the suite.

Both Dukas, Ravel, Koechlin - Albrecht and Ravel: Bolero - Boulez are of the complete ballet. I'd go for Boulez musically, Albrecht sonically - on balance the Pentatone has to be the recommendation due to it being far more easy to obtain.
