Pentaman, count me in for purchase of the QI Beethoven, particularly if there is a multichannel possibility. You might offer the quartets separately, Early, Middle, Late, so the cost would be less per box.

dear Brenda, eventually we will be duplicating since we plan the complete cycle including the three single movements for violin and orchestra (the Adagio in E KV 261, the Rondo in B-flat KV 269 and the Rondo in C KV 373). Furthermore the Sinfonia concertante in E-flat KV 364 (viola-soloist Gordan Nikolic) and the Concertone in C KV 190 (2nd violin-soloist Gordan Nikolic) will form part of this series. But you will want to have them all we expect after you have listened to the first album. I have just heard the final edit and what makes this recording unique is the cadenzas written by Julia herself. She is not only a marvellous violinist (and pianist)and delivers a stunning perfoemance, but above all.... we are flabbergasted by the cadenzas. I am curious to hear if you agree.

Best,Pentaman

Pentaman, I hope you can realize these plans, because I like Julia Fischer and Mozart, who is under-represented in the SACD-catalogue. So I was happy, when I saw the additional Mozart-thread on your release-planning-list. Whats with the other horn-concertos? And the piano-concertos? I am afraid, that Philips will not continue the Brendel-Mozart-cycle, which you resp. Polyhymnia is responsible for.
Best wishes for the future!!

I would too definitely buy this, but I'd rather have them in same box set, maybe that would bring down the costs per disc a bit. If you do release this as a box set, please don't use same kind of packaging as you did with Masur Beethoven box.

Regarding the Beethoven quartets, I'd definitely be into purchasing it if it were to be released. Perhaps Zeus could create a poll thread that could measure the number of unique users that would be interested in this or any other future releases.

Coming into this thread somewhat late, I wanted to ask Pentaman (or any other Pentatone personnel) whether there are plans to release Inbal's Schumann Syms 2 & 4 at any time in the future? I, for one, would love to complete the cycle, having purchased the disc of 1 & 3. It is one of my top two or three in terms of recorded sound.

Beyond this request, does Pentatone have plans to release any additional Brahms symphonies, perhaps using another conductor to complete the cycle? Finally, can we expect any future RQR releases from Masur and the Gewandhaus Orchestra?

Thanks from a solid Pentatone purchaser and fan.

The listing of the Beethoven 7th Symphony has disappeared from the "release planning" section of the website? Anyone know why? I was looking forward to that one...

Sorry ramesh, absolutely don´t mean to affend. But, why would anyone look forward to a Beethoven SACD, or any other, conducted by Paavo Järvi?

Although I have by no means heard everything Jarvi has done, I do like what he did with the Stravinsky ballets. I was looking forward to the Beethoven as well, although more for symphony 8 than 7. I hope it reappears soon.

We have found one more Symphony in quad format (# 3), but # 1 is missing. We have not found a suitable coupling for the third symphony.

We are releasing later this month an album with "The final sessions" of Hans Vonk with the Netherlands Radio Symph. Orch. On this album are the Academic Festival Overture, The Alto Rhapsody and the Haydn Variations. No continuation of the cycle with another conductor is foreseen.

The good news is that we have quad Brahms from the Gewandhaus/Masur: all 4 symphonies and the Serenades N0. 1 and 2 plus the double concerto (Accardo/Schiff)

a new recoding took place recently (symphonies 3 & 4) and we have not yet decided what the best coupling is for the first release in this series.
