Well, I think everything is back online and all is functioning OK again. If not, please report problems here and I'll fix them.

I'm still not sure what happened with my hosting provider. There have been "words" go back and forth and there's a likelihood that the site will be moved to another server necessitating a complete rebuild. This could happen in a few days and will result in another outage. I'll post details on the scheduled timing if it happens.

Stephen,
That's a bummer. When something similar happened to me, I got to rework my site more to my liking, so that cloud had a silver lining. One thing that I would wish for in a new incarnation of sacdinfo.com would be easier navigation through the titles. It would be great just to go to "page101" or "the B's" (by letter of the alphabet). All in all this is the best site; I check in just about every day. Keep cool. "This too shall pass."

Thanks for your comments. I'm always open to suggestions on what I can do to make the site more useful. It would probably help if I knew what I was doing as well!

On navigating through titles, it's getting to the stage where "Search" is probably your best option. You can do a genre selection to narrow the list. Also, if you want to go a particular page, you can simply edit the URL, changing "page=n" to "page=101" (or adding "?page=101" if on the first). Once you're on top of the current catalogue, checking "Recent Additions" (linked from the Home page) once a week should keep you up to date.

I had some plans but because of this latest cockup decided to bring them forward. Stay tuned ...

That's good to know, Stephen. We of the barely-computer-literate masses wouldn't have figured that out without help.

Since you have your own site, I don't know whether this comment is tongue in cheek or not. Seriously, I am looking at ways to make the content more accessible ... along the lines of making "windows" on the catalogue that are more relevant to any user. There's a lot of stuff here now. I'm open to suggestions.

Currently my efforts are going into making the site more Google-friendly, a challenge for a dynamic site. This way the content will be fully accessible to Google searches. My hosting service had just doubled my bandwidth limit and I'm keen to exploit this. Currently I serve up about 4-5GB a month.

Zeus,
My comment was sincere. I own a small company that has a website with some "special needs" (this is bit of a pun for Americans), but other than trying to explain to computer geeks what I want and having them trying to explain to me why it can't work that way, I know nothing about it.

Good luck with your changes.

Dan
