Hello,

I am new on the forum. Can you guys tell me great Smooth Jazz titles to purchase? Will be better if they are multichannel.

Thanks.

Essential is the grandaddy of smooth jazz, In A Silent Way by Miles Dewey Davis. Look for the Japanese Sony-issued hybrid mch. SACD available from CD Japan.

Search the jazz titles on this site. All multichannel SACDs are identified as Multi-ch. The link below displays jazz titles sorted by most viewed.

Diana Krall's music could be described as smooth jazz, and several of her titles are in multichannel. For adventurous contemporary jazz in multichannel, check out the Songlines label.

One of the things I enjoy most about the SACD medium (and this site) is the experience of discovering new artists.

I have several of the Spyro Gyra SA-CDs and have been real pleased with the sound quality and multi-channel mixes. Other recommendations that I have in the smooth jazz category would be Yellowjackets and David Sanborn. Good luck!

Not exactly smooth jazz, more like contemporary jazz / fusion, but you might want to check out some of the releases by Hiromi

Also, if you would consider some world jazz, some of the Seigen Ono titles are worth a go
