Hi cocopc,
These all seem to be CDs and not SACDs (2 and 3 being DSD-remasrered). I've read many reports saying that the DSD-remastered Miles Davis discs are the best sounding *CD* versions.
Edit: *m*any reports"

You're right. I've just obtained new information that the only SACD version which exists of MILESTONES is the:
Milestones +3 (SRGS 4585)- Sony Super Audio CD Series (1-bit DSD SACDs in paper sleeves) released 5/9/2001.
Ergo the only exists this one SACD version.
I have also entered a thread about MILES DAVIS - Kind of blue, concerning the soundquality of the different SACD versions of this album. Can you help me out there?
Thanks for your help. Best Regard cocopc

DSD was used for digitizing the analog tapes. This DSD signal can be transferred to SACD or converted to PCM for CD release. The CD contains a 16bit/44hHz PCM signal of course, but the remastering was done in DSD. Just like many current CD reissues are remastered in 24bit/96kHz PCM.
Sony uses DSD as their archiving format, so many recent CD reissues are sourced from DSD transfers of the analog tapes.
