Too bad the Järvi disc doesn't include the Schumann 4th, which he played in concert

After the SACD with the 1st and 3rd, it would have been logical to conclude the symphony cycle with one disc.

Robert Schumann wrote a lot of nice music. I am happy to see that the likelihood exists for a 3rd disc.

Oh, why not his symphonies or less famous ballet scores such as Prodigal son or Le pas d'acier? Their SACD of Symphonies 1 and 5 was well done, and there is a shortage of Prokofiev symphonic and orchestral works in SACD format. I've got three SACDs of R&J!!!

Did you not like his 5th? It was certainly memorable.

I agree with you. Many on here hoped at the time of the launch of 1 & 5 that Ashkenazy would tackle the whole symphonic cycle with the SSO but clearly Exton do not regard the other symphonies to be attractive enough to the general buying public so all we have from modern times is Gergiev's London set in RBCD only.

Gergiev has recently given us a truly excellent account of "R & J" on LSO Live SACD so we may not be ready for another just yet especially if it proved to be inferior.

It's worth noting that Gegiev/LSO are showcasing "Cinderella" at this year's BBC Proms at London's Royal Albert Hall so we are likely to get a SACD at around the same time? Good opportunity to sell them at the door?

How do you have 3? There's only 1 complete.
