Hello,
I've buyed a dvd/sacd-player which is also able to play dvd-audio. I don't play multichannel, only stereo. But sometimes I have a problem hearing the difference between the dvd-a multichannel mixes and the stereo-mixes. There's one mix that has more bass and one mix that is clearer but hasn't the bass-power of the first mix. Which is the right one to play or is it that the multichannel mix can be played on 2-channels too. And can someone tell me if there is always a multichannel mix on the dvd-a? (for example Eagles-Hotel California)Sometimes there is a lack of information in the booklet.
Hopefully someone can advice me but please not to technical.I'm a starter.
Thanks!

Hello, You must play the stereo version. I suppose you have set yor player to 2 channel, then multichannel audio is mixed down to two channels, whenever DVD-Audio discs allow down-mixing.

Is it possible that when the multichannel is mixed down to two channels, the sound is a little bit muddy? And offers the multichannel mix more bass than stereo?

Yes, of course more muddy (because of the downmix) and extra bass (from the subwoofer signal of 5.1).
