Can you find the information on absolute effectiveness of drugs on the internet, side by side comparisons of different drugs? Did google force pharmaceutical companies to publish negative results of drug trials?
Yes: of particular interest to me is http://www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/live/12329/45896/45896.pdf, evaluations of the evidence in all other areas of medicine are available from the same site. AFAIK Google hasn't forced companies to publish anything (good or bad) but there are campaigns under way for publishing negative results as I'm sure you're aware.

I'm waiting for the level of healthcare transparency as outlined by Ben Goldacre in Bad Pharma and Dr Marty Makary in his Unaccountable book. They each reveal dozens of fatal (sometimes literally) flaws in the seemingly data-driven industry. When you read the two books, you will realize how long the road ahead of us still is.

Does the SACD player Cookie used in her test have this steep filter?
I don't know but I can guarantee you that it was different than the Mytek that she was also using.

Interesting discussion about pharmaceutics on this thread. :)
Back to audio... Here's the article at Stereophile by John Atkinson describing the comparison test with SACD and the Mytek unit http://www.stereophile.com/content/cookie-marenco-dems-dsd
The SACD player was from EMM and reported to be a $25,000 device. Best to check with them directly to find out about the steep filter.

Cookie,
As we've already established, this type of comparison is flawed and leads to invalid conclusions.
DSD_mastering and Tailspn reported in the thread they didn't notice any differences between optical (SACD) and computer (DSD file) playback when they used THE SAME digital to analog converter for the experiment.

Well all you would need to do is run an FFT from the analog outputs from both the Mytek and the EMM and see how different the filters are.
I've done it from the Playback Designs MPS-5 and the Mytek using the same souce files from the Sonoma.

Bruce,
You say the Grimm sounds best at 64x, but how do you (or would you) describe the inferiority of the Korg at 128x?
