EUR 80,70 is the out-of-print Columbia SACD

EUR 49,98 is the Sony Japan SACD

EUR 21,99 is the Mobile Fidelity remastered SACD

And don't forget Monster Music's recent 5.1 DTS/DD & 96/24 PCM stereo remastered version which is available separately but was a promotional giveaway with the Miles Davis limited edition earbuds (which retailed for $499).

Update: In fact, I just ordered the last NEW one (from third party vendor) at Amazon and it wasn't cheap (Monster Music NO longer shows it as available in its catalogue).

I heard this recording when it first came out (lying under the coffee-table where the inebriated older folk wouldn't see me). It was among the first LPs I bought, I owned it on cassette and then on CD. But it is now perhaps the oldest resident on my WishList... I never quite purchased it! Fear of nostalgia? Evolution of taste? Dunno.

This latest issue raises the question again. So I ask, 'Is there any reason NOT to buy at this price?'.

I must have six different versions of SOS.......the original Columbia SACD single layered version, the Japanese SACD import (hybrid), now the 5.1 DTS Monster Music remaster (with 96/24 PCM stereo track) and multiple RBCD copies.....and on vinyl somewhere in my collection.

Take the plunge Beagle........it WAS the soundtrack to your early years.

Yes. That evolution of taste.

After the first joy of meeting an old friend it will just end up clogging your shelf space, is my bet.

Great! You two are like the good and bad duck-angels fluttering on opposite sides of Donald's head. Stereo aesthetics, or bi-polarius disorder?

or duck hunting with a semi~automatic ;)?

Let YOUR conscience be YOUR guide. Quite obviously, Polarius T is not a jazz aficianado.
