Micheal Jacksons Thriller SACD still sells for a decent price on the second hand market if you can find one.

The Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed
This one's almost there. My copy cost £7 three years ago; now Amazon have it listed from third party sellers for £86 used to £130 for new.
All Moody Blues SACDs will go that way, and I think soon.

There is the holy grail of MFSL collectors - "Blues in Orbit"
Duke Ellington: Blues in Orbit
This was the last SACD released by the original MFSL. I've seen it on eBay from $100 to $405. The thing is, you can buy a regular remastered CD of the album with bonus tracks for $6.99 on Amazon. I wouldn't mind paying $80 for it. I simply want a used one because I don't want to open a sealed copy. I want to listen to it not put in my IRA.

I doubt anyone gets these prices. At least, the most I've ever received for an OOP SACD was $30.

Many of these insane prices seem designed to appeal to the lazy, who are unwilling to spend another minute or two online to determine availability and comparison-shop. Having said that, I of course plan to retire on the ever-mounting value of my SACD collection....

I had several RARE SACDs listed at Amazon Marketplace two years ago for over four months and I lowered the price daily to stay the lowest. Anyway they started at over $200 each (lowest price) and by the end of the 4th month they were under $100 and no sales for me or any of the other sellers.
I finally listed all those RARE SACDs at Audiogon for $50 each and they sold.
So most of the outrageous Amazon Marketplace prices for out-of-print SACDs are wishful thinking on the seller's part.
