What a night this has been on July 6, 1979 in the Tivoli Hall in Copenhagen! What a line-up in session! Five giants are jamming and soloing around five standard-themes and a spontaneous improvised blues. Everything that stands in the books about the definition of jazz, here you have it, live. Exiting interplay, improvising, breathtaking solos, changing rhythms and tempos will grab your attention and keep you swinging till the last note. This music is pure fun to a jazz fan.
The sound is good, rich of colour, good soundstage and imaging, air for the instruments to breath, dynamic, brilliant.

A very new, just last week, release from Fantasy. This is thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. The first cut, Nuages, is a wonderful Django Reinhart tune played so well by the ensemble and Stephane Grappelli in particular. All the other 5 tunes are nearly as good and enjoyable.
This was a live concert recording, and comes thru fairly well, although the bass is sometimes not quite as good as really could be, I think. Overall seems like 5 stars to me.
