Performance:   Sonics:
Quite a suprise this as I only purchased it to fill up the order and found its performance and recording both excellent. The string tone and orchestral playing are only slightly below the very best even though Ive never heard of this Tokyo violinist before. The pairing of the Scottish Fantasy is also a good idea and I think the latter work is probably the better and under rated of Bruchs remaining works.I suppose I have to nitpick at Memrans presentation with their outdated notes (see Brendas earlier comments)and almost boring artwork. This is also shortish measure at 55 minutes though I cannot think of another filler work. Reference is made to Joachims comment re 4 great German violin concertos and this sounds the least Germanic of those works probably due to his time spent in England and Liverpool in particular.
Inside it mentions the violinist has done other concertos and recently moved towards more avante garde works (1997?) At bargain price again even with plenty of competiotion no problem ...
