Performance:   Sonics:
I may be a biased Carl Davis fan as Ive seen a few of his concerts where he plays similair music often with a screen showing the movie whilst playing along./Also his chat about the works and interprtation usual allays my noticing the differnce between the originals. In this case almost all items are equal to or better than the originals. The musical theme is adopted especially in the Rach 2 concerto movement with un named pianist ? and the Mahler adagio is very slow/liesurly but has tremendous effect with what SEEMS a larger orchestra than normal with equisite string tone and playing which would surely have disctracted from the visuals.Similair the Barber adagio. The remaining pieces are all concert versions of the music and can be enjoyed as such..Dr Zhivargo is many times better a recording than the original and almost likewise with Gone with the Wind (awesome). Some suprisingly good works as fillers would be an understatement.Didnt expect to enjoy this and even have the guts to review it.I would even buy more as I often find modern full soundtracks get a bit thin and repetative.Just add this to your next JPC order and buy some soft tissues for when it arrives...magic...Dave
Ps notes and cover as per usual, decent gaps...right way around stereo..
