Performance:   Sonics:
Anthony Beaumont, the conductor of this recording, is fats becoming one of the specialists of this repertoire.
And the results show. Weill´s music is not so easy to digest, and needs not only impeccable musicanship but also a very alert baton. In Beaumont and his Orchestra we get these requisites in spades.

The sound is very clear and spacious, the timbre of the various instruments blend ideally.

Very highly recomended.

sorry a quickish review.Suprise enjoyment at Quodlibet Suite from the childrens ballet, even had my toe tapping? as I am not a great Weill lover I had dismissed most works escept Marianns Faithfulls fabulous different version of 7 Deadly sins and the 2nd symphony. Here it is played and recording outstandingly.Sadly Chandos best recording Ive got.The second symphony here is judged almost perfect with every last detail you could want from a recording. The so called Berlin first symphony is a lesser work IMO and 23 minutes overstays its limited interest for me but again this is played and recorded superbly. Not for the faint hearted but rewarding.
